Halloween make up tutorial; Dead Girl
Thursday, October 02, 2014Hello darlings!
Since the lovely month of October just started I decided to try out some Halloween make up already. The last couple of years I've been a 'broken doll' and another kind of mix between a doll and zombie girl because it's my favourite kind of make up to do really. I love all things cute and gory so what's the best mash up for that? Exactly. A dead doll.
This year I was torn between going as Wednesday Addams and a zombie girl. You might be able to guess it already.. I'm going as a zombie version of Wednesday.
So I tried out my make up today and made pictures of it step by step (I tried filming it too but my camera died in the middle of it..) I didn't have my costume on or anything because I still need to 'blood shatter' it all over but I promise to blog my full outfit on Halloween! I'm so excited it's not even funny it's still 29 days away!
HERE WE GO! If you guys have any questions ask away :)
what you will need:
- a foundation that's a shade lighter than your own skintone
- a nude lipstick
- different shades of purple and reddish pink eye shadows
- bronzer
- fake eyelashes that'll make your eyes pop
- theatrical flesh or modelling wax (less than €5 at costumes shops or online)
- fake blood
- paper tissues
Make yourself look dead by building up different shades of purple and grey around your eyes first.
The eye shadow palette I used is from Claires. To contour your cheeks use your regular bronzer or some brown eye shadow and make it noticable! You're dead so you haven't been eating lately.
Don't be afraid to make a mess, you're dead anyways. Who cares?
Take some theatrical flesh and place it on the areas you want to get covered. If you're using modelling wax there's only that as a step, with theatrical flesh I also put some tissues on top of it and cover that again with the flesh. Let this dry before you go on with your eye make up otherwise it'll be a mess. You can go on by putting on your nude lipstick while waiting.
It should look something like this. Because it's way to yellow toned I put a good amount of foundation over it before going back to the eye make up. The nude lipstick I use is 010 Be Natural! by Cartrice.
Get your purple eye shadows over the 'wound' so it blends in pretty well.
Also to make it more realistic put some purple and reddish pink around the wound to make it look bruised and infected.
I opened up the wound with some scissors and darkened it up with black and reddish pink eye shadow.
Bruise it up around the cuts as well to get more of a 3D effect.
Some detail of how it should/could look before you put the fake blood on it (if desired, again you can skip this step)
Don't worry it dries up (like around my mouth) so you can eat and drink without getting poisoned haha. I doubt it's poisonous though.
